Anonymous Lawyer Website

Website: http://anonymouslawyer.blogspot.com/

Intended audience: Anonymous Lawyer is a blog containing a compilation of "stories from the trenches, by a fictional hiring partner at a large law firm in a major city." The satirical stories are intended to reach an audience of lawyers, soon-to-be lawyers and those otherwise involved in the legal profession. It seems to have its greatest appeal to discontented attorneys working in large law firms.

Usefulness of content: From a research standpoint, the blog is not particularly useful. It does not provide links to other helpful websites or provide much, if any, substantive content. However, the stories in the blog have resonated with many lawyers who claim that the tales describe their lives. It is a useful commentary on the legal profession. It has also proved very useful to the blog's author, who has turned the blog into a novel.

Consistency of design: The design of the website is simple, clean and consistent. Every story is in the same font and equally-spaced. There are only a few website links and advertisements, so the page is not cluttered. There is also a link to an "Anonymous Law Firm" website that is so professionally designed that it could be mistaken for an actual law firm website (if it were not for the silly pictures and outrageous statements contained in it).

Ease of navigation: The most current posting is prominently displayed at the top of the page, so it is always easy to locate. There is a lengthy list of previous postings by month and year, which often requires a lot of scrolling to reach a particular posting. Adding a drop-down menu to the blog's search feature would probably be helpful. Overall, however, it is not difficult at all to navigate on this blog.
