The Buda Public Library

The Buda Public Library is premiering a new website thanks to the Texas State Library and Archives who provide not only the template but much of the content. The Texas State Library received a grant which enabled them to create this resource and offer it free to libraries throughout the state. Our website needed a more professional look and feel, so our Director was most enthusiastic to accept this offer. Check out our new look at www.budalibrary.org

Intended Audience:

Residents of Hays County both young and old who are members of the library or considering membership are the primary focus. Also prospective Buda or Hays County residents looking to see what the community offers can get an idea by visiting the website; that is true for prospective businesses as well.

Usefulness of Content:

Our website offers valuable content for students, parents, intellectuals and other inquiring minds. All can easily assess the TexShare Databases which provide a wealth of information and can browse our collection using either a basic search or a more advanced search. The kids and teen section connects youth with extraordinary links to homework and research assistance as well as sites that provide ideas for enjoyable reads and other fun stuff. Parents looking for quality reading material for their children will find the content useful.

Clubs or organizations will find the "Community Organization" section helpful. Information about each club is highlighted and can be updated with ease. Other local information such as our hours of operation and current local news is readily apparent from the front page.

Consistency of Content:

The content the Texas State Library provides is consistently excellent. Each link offers interesting up-to-date information. Our local content continues to be a work in progress. Currently the library director is the only staff member updating the site.

Ease of Navigation

Navigating from page to page can be done by either utilizing the tabs on the top of the page or by the category titles on the left margin making it easy to access the area the user desires. The tabs and left margin information is on every page also making it easy to navigate.
