Bitch Magazine

The Bitch Magazine website is the virtual component of the print magazine by the same illustrious name. There is not much going on here. The site is really a point of reference for the magazine. Lots of information is provided about how to submit, where to find Bitch, how to advertise, what's coming up in the next issue, etc. You are not able to read articles online, though there is an index of every issue and its table of contents.

Intended Audience

The audience for this website is current and potential Bitch magazine readers. This can include nearly anyone who is interested in feminist perspectives on society and culture. The magazine does a good job of including old and new school feminists so a broad range of feminists can be informed and entertained by this rag.

Usefulness of Content

The content is very useful. The site is very focused on telling readers what they can expect from the issues, and how they can get involved. This includes where to buy Bitch. The only online content is a Bitch Blog that seems to have some cool stuff in it. Really, they just want people to have an old school discovery experience of going out and buying the physical magazine and sharing with friends.

Consistency of Design

The site is very pretty and all the pages have a lovely matchy matchy color scheme. Every page has a sidebar and title and its easy to know what is important on every page.

Navigation

Because the site only serves a few purposes, the toolbars on top and left sides have navigation covered. On the page that lists the issues and their contents, there is a clickable menu where you can jump to issues by number and name.
