Blues for Peace

bluesforpeace.com

Target Audience: Those who want to know more about history of blues or find guitar tabs (sheet music) for blues music.

Usefulness of Content: Concise histories of styles or particular blues artists are available. It is a site run by an individual so is nowhere near complete. It focuses on 'popular' artists such as Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and ZZ Top with links to some lesser known artists under "Blues Heroes". It does contain lyrics for many traditional blues songs and links to a business that sells sheetmusic. The prevealence of those links leads one to believe that the site is in fact run by someone associated with the sheetmusic seller. There are also ads for books on blues.

Consistency of Design: All pages follow a - major links on left, content in the middle, some links on the right throughout the site. There are some google ads that appear at the top/bottom of content. There are some issues with consistency, for example the links on the left and right vary by path taken through the site and sometimes contain some of the same link on right and left. Also on some links (Blues Heroes for example), a huge white space appears above the content pushing the content down to the third screen when paging down.

Ease of Navigation: It is not hard to get to the areas of the site however the navigation is a bit of a spaghetti mess (if one were to look at a graph of the site links) as noted in the consistency comments above. The constant changing of the menus on the sidebars can be confusing and once a page is found, it might be difficult to relocate on a second visit.
