The Tennis Server

http://www.tennisserver.com/

Intended Audience

The target of this website is anyone interested in following professional tennis or playing tennis recreationally. It does seem to be more geared toward those that already know something about the game, particularly concerning its content on professional tennis. For instance, I could not locate a schedule of events or any explanation of what a particular event is in my travels on the site.

Usefulness of Content
This site does have some interesting and useful content. It contains information about the professional tour, including the ATP and WTA tours, the Davis Cup, and player profiles. However, their content on this is fairly sparse and infrequently updated, so one would probably be better off finding such information at other sites. One thing concerning the pro tour the site covers fairly well though is photos of professional players. The more interesting and useful content to me though is its articles on how to play the game, which are a good source of tips and ideas on how to improve your recreational tennis game.

Consistency of Design
This website has some consistency of design issues, in addition to general design issues. The biggest problem is that there is no consistent navigation bar or menu. Otherwise, the content is displayed in the same style and colors. Other design issues include too much content on most pages and the home page in particular, which require excessive scrolling and longer times to download pages.

Ease of Navigation
Unfortunately, this site is not very easy to navigate. It has no consistent navigation bar or site architecture, so links to the content are located in different areas on the home page. For instance, links to some of the articles are placed in the body about halfway down the home page while others are located on the bar to the left. The link back to the homepage is also not placed very prominently on the left bar.
