Woot.com

Site: www.woot.com
- it's mission: one day = one deal; essentially selling only ONE item until it's gone, and not changing to a new item until midnight. No one knows the next item to be sold until it appears. They could be selling a 20GB ipod for $100 today and tomorrow it will be a toaster for $11. No one knows. Exceptions: "woot-offs". Woot-offs are times when they have smaller quantities of items at great prices; they rotate the item available only as the other sells out. See an irobot Scheduler Vacuum that retails for $350 on Woot for $134 during a Woot-Off? Don't wait... in ten minutes it may be gone.

Intended audience:
Bargain hunters of all shapes, sizes, and interests. Essentially.....EVERYONE!
Their varying content requires the user to check back daily to see if it's some deal they cannot pass up.

Usefulness of content:
The page itself is well-arranged. There is never any confusion about what is for sale and how much it costs. This allows users to decide in whether or not to stay at the site in less than 5 seconds. Awesome....I know I do not like my time wasted, and they sure make it easy for me to be efficient. (no clicking on Ads or other trickery to gain more info)
The 'information' about the content is Variable.
The Product picture is usually large and quality, however, the Product descriptions can be mediocre. It will have the technical info & specs, but the extended description itself is usually a farce, at least in-part. It might even mock the product or mock woot.
Forums - allow customers to give additional insight to a product, both good and bad. The moderators will even tag preferred posts for others to notice, if they are quality enough, either in-favor, or against the product. It also allows those who post to note other places to by the "wooted item" at a similar or even better deal than Woot is offering it. Freedom of speech at its best!

Consistency of Design:
Always the same, everyday. There is little breadth or depth to the site, so there is not much a need for templates. Since there is only one item for sale at a time...it limits navigation and every new item is displayed as the old item was.

Ease of Navigation:
One of the easiest. There are only 6 link options, each plainly labeled. Simple and to the point, just as we'd like everything in life to be!
