RunTex

RunTex is as its name implies a runner’s store. As well as having several brick and mortar stores located in Austin Texas they also have a strong web presence which includes an online shop, news, training information, local and statewide events, seminars, and forums.

Intended audience:
The intended audience is runners of all levels, shapes, sizes, and any other subcategory you want to attach a label to. The site also is intended to introduce new runners to the sport.

Usefulness of content: The content is very useful in that it provides conclusive information about surrounding resources such as training groups and events. While RunTex is a business they also work to be a community resource for runners.

Consistency of design: The web site design is pretty consistent through each of their pages. They stick with a static template for each page.

Ease of navigation:
Pros: One of the nicest things that I’ve noticed about this website is that the header remains the same throughout each page on the site. This helps with navigating through different pages and not needing to rely on the back button. They also box information so that it doesn’t all run together and get overwhelming.

Cons: There is not a search function on this website, or at least not one that I have found. You have to scroll through long lists to find events or training groups. In this case a drop down menu would be helpful.
