Lars and the Real Girl

http://larsandtherealgirl-themovie.com/

Intended audience
Lars and the Real Girl is a new movie that comes into theater in October. It's a movie about this introvert guy who imagines that a life-size doll is his girlfriend and treats it like it's alive. The intended audiences of this site should be people who saw the movie trailer, heard about this movie, or saw the ads for the movie and want to know more about it.

Usefulness of content
The site's content includes synopsis, cast & crew, wallpaper downloads, trailer, reviews and selected scene from the movies. I think the site covers all the basic information that should be included in a movie's Web site. However, I think the site can include many other contents such as forums or discussion boards, interviews or behing-the-scene with casts and crews, and most important of all, information on when the movie is going to go into the theater and where since this movie is only shown in certain cities.

Consistency of design
Eventhough the information in this site is really basic and limited, I really love the design of this site. The home page has the main headings for synopsis, cast & crew, downloads, and etc, and a 3-D map of various places in the movie such as a church, a doctor's office, the leading character's home, etc. When you click on those places, they will take you to pages with video clips of scenes from those places, for example, if you click a church, the page will change to the scene from the church in the movie and you can watch a clip of this scene on that page. There are a lot of flash and animation going on everywhere. I think that this is really entertaining and fun to navigate through. One problem that I have with these animated pages is that in each page there are many tiny different animations going on with different objects on each scene and sometimes the animation works just by passing the mouse through the objeccts but sometimes you have to click the objects for the animation to work so I think that is kind of confusing and inconsistent and you don't really know which objects are animated on each page or if this page is animated at all until you move you mouse through the page.

Ease of navigation
I find the site extremely easy to navigate since the site just offers basic information so everything can be made into headings and put in the menu bar. Apart from these basic infomation, the only things else in the site are these video clips of different scenes from the movie and those are put into a clear and easy-to-use map of where each scene takes place. Every graphic was labeled so it's very easy to understand. I also like that when the video clip of each scene pops up, you can just move your mouse over the clip to close it instead of moving the mouse to the "x" sign that usually used to close any window.
